Safety

  • All structure poles are planted at a depth of 500mm to 600mm with concrete reinforcement.
  • We use 75mm to 100mm Saligna poles for all our structure poles as well as for floor supports and roof supports.
  • All pole connection points are secured with 10mm threaded rods which are attached with washers and nuts on both sides of the joints. We never use single sided screws to attach poles to each other.
  • Floors are supported every 45cm to 50cm with poles to carry large amounts of weight. Floor planks are installed with the correct width between planks to avoid injury to fingers and toes. Our openings between planks does not exceed 8mm.
  • Safety railings are placed every 10cm, it leaves an opening of no more than 8cm to comply with safety regulations. Safety railings are normally 75cm high or higher to exceed the minimum height of 600mm.
  • All openings in the safety railings for ladders, slides, commando nets, ramps, fireman poles, steps and all other openings to give access to the platforms are secured with guard barriers. A horizontal barrier is placed at a suitable height for the accessory to prevent children from falling off the platform when they play and accidentally walk backwards towards the openings. This also forces children to go down on their knees or to sit flat on their buttocks before climbing down the structure.
  • We offer you a choice of railings built from either treated planks or treated dropper poles. Either way, the railings are safe and secured to offer your child the safest possible play experience.
  • All our structures are sanded down to remove any splinters or rough wood. We take care to remove any sharp edges, protruding screws or any dangerous objects on the structure to eliminate the risk of unnecessary injury.
  • All protruding rods are grinded smooth to the level of the nut which attaches it. Skin and clothing will not hook or tear on any of our joints.
  • We use an oil based wood treatment to paint the structures. We do not use varnish that can flake off to comply with safety regulations. The oil penetrates┬áthe wood and children or adults cannot inhale any part of it over time. Many colours are available to choose from.
  • All our accessories like nets, slides, monkey bars, ladders and ramps comply with safety regulations. Our nets have the correct size openings, the slides we use have the correct height from floor to lowest point on the bottom section and all ladders have the correct height from the lowest step to the ground. We take safety very seriously, therefore we do everything possible to make our structures as safe as possible.
